My initial idea for a regional magazine is a cultural magazine that will include entertainment within the North East. I hope to incorporate local films information about the north east. I feel this is more appropriate than a fashion or football magazine as these only target a specific gender.
To gain some inspiration I have created this moodboard using existing magazines which have qualities and topics that are relevant and of similar genre. Film is a topic that is featured in the above magazines. I have included both popular magazines such as empire and TotalFilm but no regional magazines as there is none focusing on film. This will be beneficial to me as I can compare the differences in stories and topics to try and relate bigger events to my own regional area, the north east. I really like Empire magazine because their front cover designs and mastheads are very creative and eye catching.
I aim to use this moodboard as an inspiration throughout the creative process of my regional magazine and as a starting point towards my genre. I have found through this research that "Empire" magazine is one of my favorites which I will take my most inspiration. I would like to incorporate styles from this magazine when creating my final product.
